As much as you think you can't sing or as much as you know you can YOU CANT YET but by the time you finish this tutorial with enough work and effort in ONE DAY you might be able to sound like. BREATH SUPPORT NUMBER ONE TIP Quick Tip Tuesday
Hey guys it's Molly Mahoney from The Prepared Performer for another quick tip Tuesday. So this is tutorial four in a series onbreathing. Breathing is so essential to life but it's also important as a singer,as a speaker, as a performer. And in the other tutorials we went over a fewdifferent tips to help you get on the right track and now at like to show youmy favorite crazy breathing exercise that I don't think I recorded before orshared. Ok but here is the warm up. You're going to sit on the floor. So I'm gonna do this to my piano bed. Sit on the floor with your knees up like this and your feet flat on the ground oké And then you're gonnalean all the way forward and you gonna take huge big breath really low in your belly and you're back. From here and you gonna breath in and you gonna hold your belly out. You gonna lift up arching over your back and have your arms up like your lifting up with your upper abs and pulling in with your lower abs because you're leaning righté So I was if you can see me like this. So, you're leaning back that way
lifting up here and your lower abs arepulling in. Once you get back they're going to sing in that position. So what this does it helps you. Leaning over like that really helps you connect to your lower part of your body,you're on the ground so you're grounded already righté coz your feeling yourseatbones on the ground. When you're here you're bent over that way you can feelyour lower back expanding. You can feel your stomach because not for everybody but some of us we should feel our belly hitting our legs on that point coz you're like really expanding so big and then also youreally work on arching your back and lifting it's creating all the space in here but by laying back, your having engaged your lower abs. So once your there, your just gonna sing on. Once you in
that place. For girls I love to use itas a mix exercise so sing it on an quot;Equot; with a really relaxed face kind of using that dolphintechnique that I spoke out before you. The quot;Equot; quot;Equot; quot;Equot; you gonna sing right there and you're gonnahold your tummy quot;Equot; going down. From there really great for your passaggio. Guys I have people do things alittle differently sometimes I don't know how Johns does with guys coz I only set it her myself. But when I do, with my males singers is I have a lot of them to sing with quot;Aquot; I still use the glottal andyou know this is where it's important for you to study with the voice teacher in private so they can help you to figure out what's best for you individually but I do a lot ofpeople a lot of males singers I have them do an quot;Aquot; and for
full voice, like quot;Aquot; so they're really hitting here. righté But it's a great exercise for getting your high belt and as a man llike that quot;Aquot; really hitting it that way and really force you to connect to yourbelly. So, yeah, try that and then also once you get those five notes just go down the scale. You can also, go really slow and go back up. There's more things I do with that fora passagios, stuff strengthening but I wanted this to be focus really on breathing. So after you do that on the ground, you gonna feel those muscles, its like tuck underneath and pushing up with your upper abs. When you stand up I want you to try, I have a new camera you guys and I'm still not very good using it. So if I stand up it's not gonna work. But when you stand up I want to try to feel the same
exact things. You gonna be feel the tucking and the pushing. That support crazy support. You don't always need that much of support righté When your singing, but when you're ready for those big power notes or for that tricky passagio area sometimes just a extra little. That is super helpful and this is a great wayto help you connect with the lower half your body. When you're singing andyou're happy and your singing. I hope this is helpful for you guys.
