How to Sing Valerie Amy Winehouse Cover Tori Matthieu Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy
Hey guys welcome back again to Ken TamplinVocal Academy, where the proof is in the singing. I'm here with my amazing student, Tori Matthieu, and we're doing takedowns of different songs today. We're going to do Amy Winehouse. The song's called Valerie. We'll do it first. We'll talk about it after, likewe always do. Let's rock! Amy Winehouse. Whooh! Nice job, girl! Man, that was good.Thank you. All right, so basically, we're doing a lotof different stuff, from Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Amy Winehouse… And what's interestingabout this is not so much that we're just doing a bunch of cover songs, but it's howTori finds herself in the song, and actually
represents that art with her own touch, herown flair, but to be able to sing in a lot of different styles, because what this doesis to give you a lot of tools for your toolbox for singing. So, we're going to be working upon, actually, some original material, too, so be watching out for that. Anyway, this is KenTamplin Vocal Academy. Shakuhachi Flute Lessons for Beginners How to Play the Shakuhachi Flute
My name is David Zasloff. I am a Shakuhachiplayer. Today we are going to learn how to play the Shakuhachi. We are going to startout with the easiest note on the Shakuhachi. Which is completely no holes covered, justto get air through the Shakuhachi. This is something that looks easy but is very difficult.Because you have to learn how to blow your wind. The air, how to aim you air into a precisespot behind the mouth piece. So you have to learn how to blow your wind, and how to shapeyour mouth very gently to direct the air in a fine channel right behind the backside ofthe mouth piece. And then the wind moves down the Shakuhachi and actually vibrates the wood.So that you actually get the tone of the instrument.
So this note is going to be the base soundof the instrument. Which is going to be a D. Remember no holes covered. Just an attemptto get a note. And you get the note by listening to your wind hit the instrument. And you shapeit by shaping your lips. That is the easiest note on the Shakuhachiand in this case since it is a one point eight Shakuhachi it is a D. It is the major noteof this length Shakuhachi.
