Beginner Singers I Feel Your Pain What Learning Guitar Taught Me About Singing Felicia Ricci

Today's tutorial is all about how I'm trying to learn guitar and it's so hard and how it's making me appreciate what it's like to be a beginner singer. It's like, I mean, I've been singing for so long that I haven't been a beginner singer in many, many years. But now, I'm trying to learn an instrument that a lot of it is similar to voice. It's giving me new insights into what makes a singer successful when they go to start learning. So this tutorial is basically my best tips and takeaways from struggling to learn the guitar that's gonna help you and your singing practice whether you're a beginner or whether you're just continuing to grow your voice.

What are the approaches and the mindsets that are gonna lead to the most progress in your singing. Stick around! Hey, in case you don't know me, my name is Fel You can call me Fel, too. And this is my channel. I do singing tips all day. The first bit of advice I have for you that is really obvious but which I'm learning so intensely

as I'm learning guitar is that progress takes time. Now with the way I teach singing is that I'd like to give you cues and tips that give you results right in the moment righté We can make adjustments that a lot of times help right then and there but in terms of internalizing it and really getting it into your body and committing it to muscle memory that's where the time and the practice has to come in and it's just the kind of thing that I'm just relearning it in such a humble way. I'm like ‘oh' (plays the guitar)

it literally will take me just a lot of time learning how to move my hand and learning how to move my other hand while I'm playing the guitar. The same goes for singing, if you're learning a new scale I can give you really good adjustments. You can understand it intellectually and then you can go to execute and get it a few times in terms of really learning it. Really committing it to that muscle memory. (plays guitar)

It's just gonna take time and consistency. And the way that I approach that is I think it's better to practice every day for about 15 minutes shooting for small windows of time everyday rather than practice once a week, once or twice a week for say an hour. Remember, it's a marathon not a sprint. And I've been putting it to practice with my guitar playing and on the days where I can only put in a little bit of time it really helps cause I see it carry over into the next day.

And that's really the best way to build up that muscle memory. My second bit of advice is similar and really builds on number one which is that sometimes you just need to sleep on it. A lot of times when we're working on like a new chord or a new fingering configuration and my hand would just start to look like a monkey's paw and I'll just feel like, completely like, just deformed over here. And I'll realized that I'm just completely exhausted and that no amount of effort is gonna really help me at this point.

Singing Tips 3 Easy Singing Tips For Beginners

Hi there. This is Aaron from HowtoSing and I'm here to talk to you about singing tips. In fact I want to give you three prettygood singing tips, kind of get you along your way in your singing. First one is about the tongue. When you'resinging, the tongue is considered one of the biggest enemies of the singer because it'salways in the way. First of all, it's the only muscle in the body if you know, yourtongue is a muscle. It's the only muscle in the body that is connected at one end butfree at the other end. So it's this weird thing that is the onlymuscle in the body that does that. Also is

that you're trying to sing and it's just likein the middle of your mouth. It's one of your biggest resonators to be able to sing andit's just like in there in the way. So where's the tongue supposed to be when you singé Seventypercent of the time, give or take, the tip of your tongue is supposed to be on the insideof your lower teeth there just resting there, right there. So all the vowels, like vocalizes, likeif you say, Hey, hey, where your tongue ends up, hey, right there. That's where your tongueis supposed to be for all the vowels of singing and most of singing is vowels, consonantsor something. It's just like a really quick

get the consonant just to get to the vowelbecause actually singing is just sustained speech. So basically it's the vowels thatare the sustained part vocalizes all the vowel sounds. So your tongue is supposed to be there. Sowhen you do any type of consonant sound like I said, like a TH or a T or anything likethat, the tongue does need to lift up to get that consonant sound and it immediately needsto get right back down where it's supposed to be. That will help you have better toneand help your voice to resonate more which means more volume and kind of a bigger, fuller, quality sound which all singers want.

All right. Next step. Your posture makes ahuge difference with how you sing. If you're bent over, you're leaned over, then you'renot going to diaphragm breathe which I will talk a little bit about your diaphragm, howto sing from your diaphragm. You hear people say that a lot. Singing or breathing fromyour diaphragm basically is when you breathe, your diaphragm lowers and pushes your intestinesto the side and to the front and out of the way. So it opens up that cavity so your lungshave a nice place to expand. OKé So breathing from your diaphragm basicallymeans you have good posture and you don't raise your chest when you're breathing in.You don't lower it when you're breathing out.

That's how a lot of people breathe. That'show most of us breathe but the idea is to have your chest remain relatively high tobegin with and when you breathe, expand in your stomach, in your sides, like your lowerrib area vocalizes. And if you keep that position as you're singing out when it's exhalingand instead of letting your chest cave, it will help the diaphragm to continue to bein the descended position and not ascend and not to rise up too quickly. Anyway, there are a couple of singing tipsfor you. I've got a ton more singing tips and a lot of articles, information tutorials, really good stuff on I think I told you. I'm
